Fury of the Immortals
Trintan, Village of
Trintan [pop. 968] – A large, hilltop village sitting along side the Vesubius River in the Erewan principality of southeastern Glantri. Just a few miles from the mountains ringing The Broken Lands, it is the first stop within Glantri for anyone traveling through The Broken Lands along the Vesubius River. In spite of its strategic importance, it is ringed by a modest wooden palisade. Rather, Trintan relies on its elected Lord Mayor – typically a powerful mage – for its defense. Though it does boast three heavy iron gates crossing the Vesubius that can close it to river traffic.
Due to its centrality to trade with the Republic of Darokin and customs duties levied on such trade, most of Trintan's residents are wealthy merchants. Interestingly, most of Trintan's residents are also human, even though it sits in the elven principality of Erewan, as many of the elves eschew permanent settlement in such a village.
The small elven village of Kota-Hutan is just a days march southwest of Trintan. Rumors swirling in the Barking Cat Tavern suggest the current Lord Mayor may be ill – some say from too many ventures into The Broken Lands – and other mages are starting to jockey for the lucrative post.
